This is a unique project where municipal authorities, entrepreneurs, professors at Vidzeme University, activists from non-governmental organisations “Piegauja” and “Vītolēni” cooperate and only domestic available resources are used. By joining the interesting tour from Ape to Vireši or from Vireši to Ape along the road A2 you will assure how successfully the combination of know-how, resources and services can be used at each of the visited places.
The offer of the “Open doors on the way of great personalities” uses the potential of domestic resources (this can be used in tourism, the study process, etc.). In studying and examining the life stories of writers and poets, you will use modern technologies which virtually “bring to life” long forgotten images, entrepreneurs will offer to buy local berry products, juices, vitamin drinks which are processed and stored by using the most advanced production equipment and technologies (SIA “Very Berry”). At Trapene and Gaujiena you will feel the presence of the poet O. Vācietis and the composer J. Vītols, will experience the possibilities provided by the virtual reality - “Meeting Jāzeps Vītols”, and interactive devices created by the professors of Vidzeme University. At Vireši it will be possible to participate at creative workshops and to try preparation of candles, to learn the secret of melting glass, and the most active society representatives from non-governmental organisations will help to reveal them.
