Opening of a multifunctional metalworking laboratory at Valmiera Vocational Training Center

A new multifunctional Metalworking training laboratory is about to be opened in Valmiera Vocational Training Center, where practical training in mecatronics, mechanics and metalworking, welding, telemechanics and logistics, as well as computerized numerical control (CNC) training will take place. The laboratory has been made to create a unified training complex in the metalworking sector in Valmiera. The building is fully equipped with modern equipment and tools, which, according to demand in the labor market, will allow to learn CNC plasma cutting, sheet bending, milling and turning, MIG/MAG and TIG welding, locksmithing and other skills. At the same time, the laboratory will host practical lessons for logistics staff, which will provide the opportunity to master the warehouse management system/warehouse tracking program, as well as working with electric forklift, to receive an electric truck drivers’ license.

The construction of the Metalworking training laboratory is carried out under the project no 8.1.3.0/16/I/006 "Modernisation of Valmiera Vocational Training Center, within a specific aid target 8.1.3."To increase the number of modernized vocational education institutions". The project has been implemented with European Regional Development Fund financing of 85% and state budget co-financing of 15%.
